Here are a few of my photos from Saturday’s Rat City Rollergirls bout. The evening featured Derby Liberation Front taking on the Sockit Wenches and a rematch of last year’s championship between Grave Danger and the Throttle Rockets. With over 4000 people in attendance and some fast, hard-hitting bouts, it was a loud and exciting night of derby. Congrats to DLF and Danger on their wins.

Here are a few photos from the season 8 opener for the Rat City Rollergirls. This was my first time shooting a RCRG bout, and I have to admit that I am hooked! I’ve only ever watched the bouts from the stands, so it was pretty awesome to be sitting 5 feet away from the skaters and having a pretty sweet view. It’s very different than shooting banked track, where I can get right up next to the skaters, but this is no less exciting and fun to shoot. Between Rat City and Tilted Thunder, my derby shooting schedule for this year is pretty packed!

Today was the Season 7 opener for the Rat City Roller Girls. All 4 teams played in tournament-style exhibition bouts to raise money for local charities. It was an awesome night of derby.
In case you’re wondering, that’s over 6000 screaming fans at Key Arena cheering on the skaters. It was loud.
