I love the skies in Seattle at this time of year. One minute, they’re gray and boring, and then the next minute, the sun busts through and lights up the sky. Definitely makes for a more interesting commute in the evenings.
The cold and the wind won’t stop us from visiting Golden Gardens for some fresh air.

I’ve been using my iPad as a sort of mid-ground proofing display for most of my gigs lately. Naturally an iPad isn’t the best tool for color-accurate proofing, but it does give me a good idea of how images will look on average, non-calibrated displays.
In the setup seen here, I used Nicholas Zambetti’s LiveView apps for Mac and iOS to get a live stream from my MacBook to my iPad via wi-fi. It does a 1-to-1 pixel match, so my iPad will only show a portion of my MacBook’s display, but it works just fine for previewing purposes. I just fire up the apps, select the stream from my iPad, and let it run in the background on my MacBook while I work. It’s pretty awesome.

I get to design a bunch of icons for my current game. To make life easier, I decided to set up a template to automatically scale the icons to various sizes and save them with the proper naming convention. This is so unrelated to animation, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
I started with a template from PixelResort and grabbed components that I needed for my icons. My goal is to have a template that I can share with my coworkers.
